Model Boat Silent Auction

The Beaver Island Irish Heritage Group is excited to announce a very special and unique Sponsorship Opportunity..

Model Boat for AuctionThis model of the Beaver Islander was built by Beaver Island native William Gillespie from over 600 popsicle sticks and toothpicks.  The display case and stand were built by Larry Cross of Charlevoix from wood recovered in Beaver Island harbor from the shipwreck of the Wallaha. Over 200 hours of work went into this model and display – all because both artists have a fondness for Beaver Island and a wish to support the Emerald Isle Irish Feile at a high level.

Gillespie and Cross donated the model and display to the Beaver Island Irish Heritage Group to use as a fundraiser for the Emerald Isle Irish Féile (Festival).  This silent auction is established to raise funds for the festival AND ensure that this amazing display will be permanently housed at the Beaver Island Boat Company office

As the winning bidder of this silent auction you will become a distinguished Emerald Isle Feile Sponsor and your name will be memorialized on a plaque on the base of the model, alongside William Gillespie and Larry Cross.
